How to Connect to Shared Drives and Databases from Your Windows Laptop

You are connected to the Westminster network via Ethernet while your laptop is connected to the docking station. You can connect to shared drives and databases like Informer and Colleague while connected to the docking station, but not while connected to wifi. If you are on wifi, you will need to use Westminster Anywhere to access those resources.

To access shared drives (Dept F drive, Shared S drive):

  1. Connect your laptop to the docking station
  2. Enter the pathway \\files.wcusers.int into the File Explorer address bar

  3. Enter your full Westminster email address and password - make sure to check the box to remember your credentials so that you do not have to reenter your information every time
  4. You can right click on the folder you want to access and click Pin to Quick Access so that you do not have to type that pathway every time you want to access the files

If you change your Westminster password, you will need to follow these steps again to enter in your new password. Again, make sure to check the box to remember your credentials.
