Financial Aid Packager and Merit Codes

Note: FA need access to the GL codes to be able to add the award on AWD form. The access would be granted through someone in Finance who has access to GLUD. FA should not have access to GLUD at all.

FA will create the "S" merit codes on AWD, but they just cannot save out until they can designate the GL.

 Here is a full list of the GL codes needed to create these new awards:

 Comment from Finance Office:

There is a FA access level that is all 10 and 11 accounts that are scholarship or other types of aid. This should cover all the accounts needed for Financial Aid to update merit codes.

 GLUD holds on to former employees, so it displays Sam’s level of access when he was here. Karen has the same access and a bit more; however, Jeffrey Pedersen has not been granted any access yet. I just need his supervisor to request/approve the access, I am assuming that is Karen. I will send her a separate email with the differences between her and Sam and she can let me know which level Jeffrey needs.

How to create a Merit Code:

·         Access AWD

·         Type the new code (Replacing the last R with an S).

·         Click Add.

·         Use the screenshots below to populate the rest of the information.

·         set up the codes by mirroring the code that was in there for the prior year. Here are screenshots of the "R" codes that need to be duplicated as an "S" code:
