Approving IS Requests

Sometimes an IS ticket is submitted and approval is needed before the request can be worked on. A good example of this are shared email boxes, in the request we ask for the the email box owner (typically a supervisor) before access is granted the owner must approve the request. This document describes how an approval can approve the request. You can reply directly to the JIRA notification email asking for your approval or:

Step-by-step guide

  1. Go to the Help Desk portal
  2. Login if needed
  3. Click on the “Requests” button in the top right corner

  4. Select “All requests”
  5. Click into the ticket 
  6. Add your comment of whether the request has been approved or denied, or follow up with any questions you may have


It is important to note that the IS team will close a request if the approver doesn't approve the request after receiving a reminder.
