Project Requests
Services available:
JIRA - the Help Desk Portal is where faculty and staff can submit project requests for technology/Information Services related requests that will likely take more 2 weeks to complete.
When submitting the request, please include as much of the following information as you can:
Project title (working or official) - A concise title for your project.
Problem to be solved - A short paragraph stated in terms of lack of effectiveness and/or efficiency in current practice or process; can be academic or operational in nature (or both).
Description of solution - One to three paragraphs to introduce the ways and means of the proposed solution to the problem stated herein.
Metrics for assessment of success - An itemization of measurable outcomes that would amount to evidence of success accorded to what is being proposed.
Desired completion - A proposed date for completion of the solution.
Cost to launch - An itemization of all costs that will be required to implement the solution.
Costs to maintain/support - An itemization of annual (fiscal year) costs that will be required to maintain/support the solution.
Source(s) of funding - Budgetary source and budget manager that will cover both launch and maintenance/support costs.
Sponsor - A faculty or staff member that is primary among stakeholders.
Effort required for launch - Itemization of University positions (as specified in individual position descriptions) and an estimate of hours that each position will dedicate to the launch of the proposed solution; please note in this section which position/person will be manage the project (note: the Sponsor would have to back-up this position/person if necessary).
Effort required for maintenance/support - Itemization of University positions (as specified in individual position descriptions) and an estimate of hours that each position will dedicate to ongoing maintenance/support of the proposed solution.
Legal/Safety/Security Compliance - Are there any ADA, FERPA, HIPAA, etc. concerns? Is this project fulfilling a compliance? Will it cause any compliance concerns?

Clear cache and cookies if the site will not load
Make sure you are signed into your Westminster account
Go to the Help Desk portal and click on the Requests button at the top right to view tickets awaiting your approval or your open project requests
Use the search function at the top of the page to help you find knowledge-based articles related to your search that may have step-by-step instructions for how to solve your problem
The Project Request type is listed at the very bottom of the request types on the Help Desk Portal
