Clear the Cookies from your Browser

This is help to do when a webpage isn't loading or isn't loading correctly. Clearing cookies from your web browser on a periodic basis helps to make space on your hard drive and safeguard your online security. Each browser (Chrome, Firefox, etc.) has a different way to clear the cookies.

Follow these steps to clear cookies in Google Chrome:

  1. Click the settings button in the top right of the window
  2. Click ‘More tools’ > ‘Clear browsing data…’
  3. Ensure the checkbox for ‘Cookies and other site data’ is ticked
  4. Click ‘Clear data’

Follow these steps to clear cookies in Mozilla Firefox:

  1. Click the settings button in the top right of the window
  2. Click ‘Library’
  3. Click 'History'
  4. Click ‘Clear Recent History’
  5. A pop-up window will open. Select the date from which you want to clear cookies and ensure the checkbox for ‘Cookies’ is ticked
  6. Click 'Clear Now'

Follow these steps to clear cookies in the Windows default browser, Microsoft Edge:

  1. Click the settings button in the top right of the window
  2. Click ‘Settings’ at the bottom
  3. Under ‘Clear browsing data,’ click ‘Choose what to clear’
  4. Ensure that the checkbox for ‘Cookies and saved website data’ is ticked
  5. Click ‘Clear’

Follow these steps to clear cookies in the default Mac browser, Safari:

  1. Click the ‘Safari’ menu option next to the Apple icon on your Mac’s screen
  2. Click ‘Clear History…’
  3. Choose the period for which you want cookies to be cleared. Note that this will also remove your browsing history for that period
  4. Click ‘Clear History’
