Services available:

  • The Westminster University core is how everything makes it out to the internet through a fiber connection provided by UEN.
  • Firewall is in place to try to stop malicious attacks from outside the University.
  • Fiber connections are made from building to building to ensure faster and better connections.

What kind of support can I receive regarding these services?

  • Updated through Jira of emergency internet outages
  • Emails prior to planned outages for upgrades or other services

Basic troubleshooting?

The core is maintained, monitored, and supported by Information Services (IS). IS doesn't expect their users to troubleshoot a problem with the core, however, we would like our users to notify us when they are seeing behaviors like: 

  • No internet (WiFi or ethernet) 
  • LAN network failures 
  • Connections to printers failing 
  • Intermittent connection issues
