Classroom Equipment

Services available:

The standard classroom setup features the following equipment: All-in-One desktop computer with touchscreen*, overhead laser projector, retractable display screen, in-classroom speaker system, Elmo document projector*, and black and white printer* (*only available is certain classrooms). 

The Information Services (IS) department has the following equipment available for checkout: web-conferencing kit (includes webcam, speaker, and omni-directional microphone), Owl Labs conferencing device, and HDMI cables with varying adapters. Please note that availability on certain items may be limited due to increased demand. It is recommended to contact the IS department at 801.832.2023 or via a Help Desk request well in advance to check availability and ensure the equipment you require will be ready. 

What kind of support can I receive regarding these services?

IS supports all equipment in the classroom that is part of the standard classroom setup. We also support all equipment made available for checkout from the IS department. 

Some common issues that we support include, but are not limited to: no video or sound on either the in-classroom display or speakers or online in a virtual classroom environment, hardware malfunctions, trouble accessing online drives and services, and problems with the Microsoft Office 365 suite of applications. 

Basic troubleshooting?

  • The projector is showing a black/blue/incorrect screen:
    • Press the Windows key and P at the same time then select Duplicate
  • There is no sound coming out of the speakers:
    • Select the volume icon at the bottom right of the taskbar and change the output
  • Review knowledge-based (KB) articles provided by IS
