Services available:
The IS department understands several of our users will be using self-purchased devices, these devices could be:
- Laptops
- Cell Phones
- Consumer Products (PS4, Alexa, Google Home, etc.)
For our users living in the residential halls, the IS department maintains a network to connect their consumer products to. Students who would like to connect a device other than a computer, phone, tablet, etc. to the WiFi, you will need to fill out a RecNet Device Registration request. RecNet is our WiFi network specifically for devices, such as a PS4, Alexa, Google Home, etc. Please note that if you need your cell phone and a device to be on the same WiFi network to be able to work together, you will need to fill out the RecNet request for both your cell phone and the device. The RecNet Device Registration request is in the top left under the User Account menu on WebAdvisor. You will need to enter both the device type and the MAC address. Every device is different, so often the best way to find the MAC address would be to Google how to find it.
