Services available:

Requesting a new academic application is more a process then a service. The process is:

The general outline of the process is:

  • Get a list of three similar software
  • Get demos and run them on the computers where the class is held
  • Compare, contrast, and negotiate license pricing 
  • Give recommendations

Please note this process will take several weeks  and requires participation not only from Information Services (IS) employees but also from the user who is requesting the new application. Information Services is involved in the evaluation process to ensure the software operates securely and that our infrastructure can handle it. These finding will be documented in Information Services (IS) document management system for future use or requests. 

What kind of support can I receive regarding these services?

  • Organize demos 
  • Help find competitors 
  • Schedule rooms for demos 
  • Review specs of hardware required

Basic Trouble shooting?

This process and Information Services (IS) has asked the requester to be involved in it, we don't have any troubleshooting steps until the application is selected for purchase.
