How to Operate the Lobby TV in Gillmor Hall

 Instructions

  1. Locate the Tech Booth: Find the tech booth in the dance space. In the booth, you'll see a monitor with three small desktop computers beneath it.

 

  1. Identify the Signage PC: The computer you need to use is the signage PC, located on the far left. Check for a white LED on the front of the PC. If it's not lit, press the power button to turn it on.

  1. Select the Right Input: The signage PC should be on input 1. If input 1 is not selected, press the "input" button until the blue LED indicates input 1. (This changes which of the 3 PC’s display on the monitor.)

  1. Log in: Use your network credentials to log into the computer.

 

  1. Turn on the Lobby TV: Unlock the touch panel next to the soundboard using the code. The code can be retrieved from the Events office. Once unlocked, ensure the "Signage TV Power" switch is on.

 

 

  1. Verify Display: You should now see the computer desktop on the signage TV, indicating it's ready for use. Note: there is no audio available on this TV.

 

 

 

How to Show a PowerPoint Presentation:

  1. Open the Presentation: Open the desired presentation and start the slideshow.

  2. Set Display to "Extron HDMI": If the presentation doesn't automatically display on the TV, ensure that the presentation display is set to "Extron HDMI."

  3. For Non-PowerPoint Content: If you need to display a video or anything other than a PowerPoint presentation, manually drag the window to the left of the monitor to display it on the lobby TV.

 

Note: Any wide-screen media will have black bars on the TV and may display smaller than intended. For the best experience, use media that was shot in portrait mode.
